De stad Guangzhou heeft aantal internationale ontwerpbureaus uitgenodigd om aan een prijsvraag mee te doen voor een stadspark. Guangzhou wordt ook wel de Chinese stad van de bloemen genoemd. Dit imago willen ze versterken met een bijzonder bloemrijk park. Het park ligt in het noorden van de stad en vormt een verbinding tussen de stad en de beroemde Baiyun- berg, een prachtige toeristische plek.
De bijzondere locatie, de grote bomen en beplanting vormen de basis van het park. Een nieuwe landmark de bloemenbrug werd ontworpen om verschillende delen van het park met elkaar te verbinden en tegelijkertijd een prachtige presentatie te geven van subtropische bloemen. Een regenwatercirculatie system is gekoppeld aan de bloemenburg om regenwater te verzamelen en her te gebruiken. Nieuwe natuurlijke plantvakken werden geïntroduceerd in het park om de biodiversiteit te verbeteren. Het nieuwe toeristencentrum is volledig bedekt met een groen dak. Die verwijst naar de groene bergen in de omgeving.
Ons ontwerp heeft de eerste prijs gewonnen van deze internationale prijsvraag. Ik was een van de hoofdontwerpers voor dit project.
The city of Guangzhou has invited many international design companies to make a design for a park in the town. Guangzhou is known as ‘flower city of China’, the government wants to use this opportunity to strengthen this image through the design of a special flower garden. The project area is located in the north of the town, and is the link between the city and Baiyun Mountain, a beautiful scenic spot.
The special location, the large trees and diverse planting form the framework of this park. A new landmark the flower bridge was designed to link various parts of the park, at the same time give a wonderful presentation of the beautiful subtropical flowers. A rainwater circulation system is linked to the flower bridge to collect and reuse the rainwater. We also brought new natural planting areas into the park to improve biodiversity. The new tourist center is completely covered by green roofs, which refer to the green mountains in the surrounding landscape.
Our design has won the first prize of the international design competition. I was one of the leading designers for this project.
